“Used” is about how a passionate emotion can easily slip for a positive to negative, and our tendency to cling on to what once was. Our culture has trained us to be so disposable that the idea of something being “old” makes it inherently undesirable. You “used” to love something, “used” to feel a certain way, but you adopted to the novelty, and so you object of adoration lost its shiny luster. Despite this inevitability, we’re stuck reaching for more.
