Fertility can be harrowing and infuriating for the female experience. As soon as women becomes of age, they're thrust into a world that simaltaneously chooses to oversexualize and shame them for sensuality. The culture doesn't provide women agency over their own bodies. "Bleed" encapsulates the underlooked cry of female rage and the fight to use your body and life on your own terms, despite the oppressive structures that demand you fall in line. It is the second single off of my debut album, Womb, which holds a candle to the complex reality of being a woman in today's America.
